Holmes, R 1959 Journal 4) 16 August Pitt Point, Alaska The vegetation here at P.P. is very similar to Barrow and Wainwright, Duponti, Carr Erigophora seem to be the most pre- dominant. There are a few herbs that seem to be different (e.g. yellow composite), and the willows seem to be growing a little higher and scrubbier - although they aren't over 2or3 inches from the ground. The terrain is also similar: flat with occasional ridges. There seems to be very few areas of well-developed polygons. 17 August Pitt Point, Alaska Worked for the plane all day and caught up a lot wrote. 18 August Pitt Point → Barrow, Alaska The plane arrived at 1130 and Then we left immediately. Due to low fog, no birds were seen on the return flight. Traps were laid during the remainder of the day. 19 August Barrow, Alaska The traps were checked in the morning and Footprint Lake and vicinity were visited in the afternoon. The species
