Holmes, R. 1959 Journal 38 7 August Barrow, Alaska 1300 - 1900 - Footprint Lake and vicinity was checked for bird activity. Many shorebirds were seen, and several were collected. The evening was spent in preparing specimens. 8 August Barrow, Alaska Lab work was finished up in anticipation of leaving for Pitt Point by 12 o'clock- norm. Since the weather became foggy and rainy, the trip was postponed. 9 August Barrow, Alaska Today was another foggy-rainy day, so it to was spent in expectation of leaving. Finally at 1400 - I went to Footprint Lake for 2 hours to check in the shorebird populations. The remainder [illegible] The day was spent in preparing specimens. 10 August Barrow → Pitt Point → Umunt - Alaska. We departed from Barrow at 1330 and headed for Umiat. Herbs (30-40) were seen along the way and a gray wolf was noted about half way in between Barrow & Umiat. After a half an hour's stop in Umiat, we proceeded to go to Pitt Pond where we arrived at 1630. Traps were set out after supper and some observations were made.
