Holmes,R. 1959 Journal 37 5 August Barrow, Alaska. Walker and I drove to Nunvak and The Pass. After afternoon, The traps were checked in Oath's Area. The weather was overcast, cool and windy (NE 10-15mph). 6 August Barrow, Alaska Cade arrived at ARL last night from his Colville Trip. The morning was spent at ARL working on specimens, and the afternoon bat look was caught up and field notes written. At 1800, Footpoint Lake, with Great Diving were visited. More shorebirds were present with flocks of Pectorals, Semi-pale + R. Phalangia being present. They were only seen around the pools and moist areas in Tukluke bottom. 7 August Barrow, Alaska 0500-1100 - Beachridge - Gosselin ridge, east to Olson Lagoon and Skipjack Slough, northwest to Wobbleby's slough and then west to Central Marsh and ARL. Many shorebirds were noted between the 2 sloughs with Semi-pale being the most abundant. Longspurs were also present in flocks of 10-20 and were apparently moving.
