3 August. Barrow & Pow2 (Islands), Alaska
Sign of birds or fur nesting was evident. After leaving to the... we
flew over Thetis Do subcuti
was reported as a good bird place
by Pete Swoeich. The sea even too
rough to land, but no lichensism
could be seen from there. Arctic Terns
and Sabine Gulls were present in
small numbers. On the return trip
a stop was made on the Colwell
Delta to drop Mike Daniels off for
two weeks stay. Returned to Barrow 1638.
4 August Barrow, Alaska
Footprint lake, Uthree and place
inbetween were visited and checked
for birds. A few shorebirds
were present on Ft. print Lake. Shorebird
activity in rather low. The
weather was sunny with a cool
NW wind.
5 August Barrow, Alaska
The morning was spent in the lab
preparing specimens and writing field
notes. The beast ridge was checked
during the afternoon and the
area between ARI and the ridge
was walked. During the evening.
