25 July Barrow → Wainwright, Alaska
quells and ferns along the coast.
From 1800 to 1830, soil samples
were taken and talks were
made with the school teachers as
the natives. Very little lumminy
activity was seen on the walk
with the tundra. On the return trip
(1830-1836), at least 15 or so
were seen and 4 jaguars. Shrews
every day were great.
26 July Barrow, Alaska
Today was very windy and cold. The
work in the lab was caught up to
date and the traps were checked
in Voth's Area.
27 July Barrow, Alaska
Voth's Area was visited during
the morning and afternoon to determine
the intensive trapping sites. Then in
the afternoon a trip was made so,
along Voth's Slope to Fortprint Lake.
The weather was chill windy, but
there was no rain.
28 July Barrow → Pitt Point (Pow i) Alaska
Due to low fog, we had to fly
low so predators could be
seen. Only two owls were seen
