5 July Barrow, Alaska
The weather is still extremely
bad, although the clouds seem to
have lifted by 2200.
6 July Barrow, Alaska.
Went to the beach ridge and central marsh
to check the traplines and then spent
the remainder of the morning in the area
between the drum area and AACS.
The afternoon was also spent in the
same locality. The drum area was
visited in the evening. The weather was mild.
7 July Barrow, Alaska
Checked traps again during the morning
and drove to Woblachlop; Slogged out
the east remains area and then re-
turned via the beach ridge. The
snow is completely gone in this
area, and Olson Togoon now
has a ring of water (30 yards across)
around it, but the center is
still ice. The afternoon was spent
near AACS, and the trap I nesting
birds on the following page was prepared.
The weather was overcast during
the entire day and there was a
light breeze. During the late afternoon,
there were several showers and soon
