Holmes, R. 1959 Journal! 25 June Barrow, Alaska 0900-1630. Drove to Beach Ridge and returned due to vehicle failure. Spent the remainder of the morning observing a male Pectoral Sandpiper. 1300-1730. - East Censasana to Wathlag's Stough and then took along the Beach ridge. b&l. The weather today has been excellent with sun and no wind (until late afternoon). 26 June Barrow, Alaska 0900-1230. Walked the beach ridge from the census plot westward to the gasoline and then into A.R. Snow remains only on the south side of the ridge where it is protected. The melt-off water has now run off or has been absorbed, leaving the terrain quite spongy. The weather was several warm (~60°) this morning and afternoon. A wind developed by late morning and continued throughout the day. By evening, it had clouded up and had become cool. The afternoon and evening were spent in moving into and organizing the new lab area in sorting field notes.
