Holmes, R. 1959 Journal 18 June Barrow, Alaska and Colville Delta, Alaska Colville Delta, Brant were seen in groups of 2 to 15. Eiders sp?, 1 Snow Goose, sev. jaegars, Sabine Culls, and Glauces Culls. In the ground at Pow 2, Red Phalampes were abundant, Semi-pal., Bards, Red-b and Pectoral Sdp.- Golden Plover, 3Pitiril '15 Brant, Savannah Sparrow, and 4 jaegars. From Pow 2, we flew back to Barrow along the coast. The whole tundra seems to be flooded. Due to the late season and then rapid melt-off, the water has been left standing and in many cases has inundated the polygons in many areas. The country near Meade River and vicinity has become about 75% cleared snow. The area near the coast is still 50-75% covered with snow. 18 June Barrow, Alaska 1000 - 1130. Drum Area. There are still several jaegars sitting and flying around this area. Aggression was seen only once when one bird was chased out of the drum area. The snow is melting rapidly. Weather - overcast, but no wind 1300 - 1600. Drum Area to Beach Ridge and back to A.R.I. ... The weather has
