hunting in the drum area.
1000-1200. Britton's Area and gas well
road and vicinity. The snow here too
is melting rapidly, and with
the weather as warm as it is today
it will soon be gone. Very few
sandpipers were seen today and the
number of wandering jaegers seems
to have decreased. There are, however
several pairs who seem rather settled.
1330-1630. Drum Areas and tundra
to the south. Jaegers are still evident
in this area with many pairs setting
on the mounds of exposed tundra. One
was noted catching a lemming.
The tundra is becoming very
marshy and will soon be clear
of snow. The weather today was mostly
overcast, but the sun was seen once. A
fog came in the late afternoon.
