Holmes,R, 1961 Insect Sampling - Ikravik 13 June Ikravik, Alaska Sod Samples were taken as before, & are described briefly with the other-plots. Pond Samples. Again 5 fundm ponds + 5 lowland ponds were picked. Pond I-A. 40x20', deep, edge covered with grass and sedge. Pfr at 2". Temp 8.8°C Pond I-B - 50x40' - deep, covered by 70% sie. - mossy edge - Temp 8°C. Pfr = 2" Pond I-C. 100x100' - mud bottom, except for edge which is mossy-sedge. Temp = 9.5°C. - 50% ice Pfr at 4" Pond I-D. (Luanigan pond) - 300x100' - sedge covered. 9.6°C - Pfr = 3" Pond I-E (at stake 0.4) - 40x50'. Sedge- mud - shallow. Temp at 11.8°C, Pfr = 3" Pond I-F. (NE. otwarigan) - 100x40' - deep with grass + moss edge. Temp at 8°C. Pfr at 3".
