Holmes, R, 1961 58. Journal 23 Aug Barrow - Drarn, Alaska plane for a trip to The Drarn, where Bobbie noer just taken Chamberlain Rob Robertson. Weather was cloudy + Snowy all the way. The Daplene look good. The ground is more Fussocks, than I had supposed. Several flocks / Brant see - On way - no flock of Stonebird seen. Snows began falling in the evening & was piling up along the road-ruts. 24 Aug Barrow, Alaska ½" snow on the ground. The morning and all ponds were frozen. This morning was ½" flinch. Pond samples will taken during the late morning & these were processed in the afternoon. Wind 10-15 mph - with occas. snow flurry. Most snow was gone by 1400, but it started snowing again at 1930. Sullivan returned from Pow A - (1 Juv. Phalarage seen nest near Upland ponds. 25 Aug Barrow, Alaska Stayed in + packed specimen all morning - drove with fallowa to Voth's Storage to help him put in 3 enclosures. Weather cold (30°) - cold NE & E Wind (10-20 mph) - wind.
