Holmes,R, 1961 Journal 52. 12 Aug Barrow, Alaska Little bird life was seen - 2 pectral + 1 Red b. Sandpiper, 2 min. Phalaropes. 13 Aug Barrow, Alaska Caught up in lab work during the morning - + then went to the insect plots + took vacuum samples + observational counts - Little insect activity was noted. - had 1 or 2 RB's, + few Pectoral Tphalanger during The day. Then - as well as 10-25 longspurs. Drove to Footprint - Saw only 1 Shorebird - as it flew off, but found an immature Cygnet Falcon in a fix trap. The bird was still alive, but his leg was nearly punched off. He was brought back to the lot. Weather today was generally pleasant. There was a light overcast with a very light (1-3 5 mph) wind. During the mid-afternoon - The sun came through for awhile but then became clouded over again. 14 Aug Barrow, Alaska Sullivan and I checked traps in the morning and then drove to Ootepik + began to set out the plot, but due to too short a rope for measuring length, we returned early. One Small male RB (5 Ads, 1 Down) - on the South side 1 gaslow ridge - Several down
