Holmes, R 1961 Journal 2a July Bannu, Alaska Spent day in lab finishing up insect samples. Weather pleasant, warm; morning with great, light winds evening. 30 July Bannu, Alaska Bright sun & warm morning, to B.R., Wohl. Sloops, s area. So 1 W.S.L. - Saw very few birds. - only a few longspurs). Birds + Tuv. S-p. nest near lake. Drove out to The pines No. 1 Birnich in the late morning & spent all afternoon working on specimens & a bit of for Scena Confluens. Clouds came in during the afternoon - along with a light SE breeze. Rain started to fall by 1700 + The continued falling lightly to midnight during the rest of the evening. (Mosquitoes were out in the morning). 31 July Bannu, Alaska Bird specimens were prepared during the morning then at 1630, I went to the insect plot & took p.m. samples. The weather has continued poor, with heavy rain occurring during the early morning hours & strong winds 1
