Holmes, R. 1961 Journal 25 July Barrow, Alaska Stayed in lab all day + worked up insect sample + bird specimen. Weather very windy. Sullivan returned from Cape Simpson. 26 July Barrow, Alaska Went to Kasaiah during the morning saw very little in the way of bird life - 2 Hawks / RB Ads - one 16, one 16, 14 + 1 chick Prelural, 3 BP-together, 2 Parasitic jaegers. The plot activity was poor - no birds seen. The Eskimo camp was deserted. Weather was sunny with a light SE breeze. In the afternoon, specimens were processed + we talked with Dr. Bruce Kessel from the Univ. of Alaska. A special seminar by Mullet & Sullivan was conducted in the evening. 27 July Barrow, Alaska Notes + specimens were processed during the morning. At 1100, I went to the insect plots + took the pond samples. In the afternoon, I returned to mule the alternate plot + the Vacuum operation. The weather was Windy (15-25 mph) from the SE. The sun was out until 1400 - when it became overcast + quite cold. Notes + letter were written in the evening.
