Holmes,R. 1961 Journal 11 July Barrow, Alaska Went to the insect plate in the morning, measured and mapped The ponds in the Lowlands & trab sample for all pons. In the afternoon, I returned & took Vacuum & Observation samples. - The Snaller been on the Vacuum net seemed to cont silver hecter- silver crane flies ever seen-to be picked up and also more debris was collected. Weather today was warm (high 58's) & sunny. Mosquitoes were out in the morning - since there was only a very light westerly wind. In the afternoon - by 1330, The wind had increased to 10 mph - so the insects were less troublesome. 12 July Barrow, Alaska Insect samples were completed by evening. Electricity installed for new fluorescent lights in the lab. Weather was overcast cold - 35° & windy. It drizzled all during the day, but the clouds lifted by early evening. 13 July Barrow, Alaska Weather sunny with a cool, 10-15 mph wind from the N.W. In the morning - I went to Ostipik & Wabishchloy Slough, B.R. & Central Marsh. Several flocks of birds were seen - RB's, Goblen Plovers - 10 Prelate - [illegible] Moreover
