1 July Walls→ Kotzebue, Alaska
common bird. A few Sino-palmed
Selp we see but they were almost
entirely close to the beach-area. Snipe
were seen here + I was heard winnowing.
This same type of country prevail to
the north along the south and west
side of lagoon, but here, there are
larger ponds. Flakes. Red + Northern
Phalumpes seen about the same in
population number - not rather common.
(Red - not so abundant as at Barrow).
Long-tailed Dowitchers were found in these
wet, pond-edge locations, as well as
dunlin wheel were exceedingly common
(only surpassed by the Western Sapi's
abundance). Kingspurs + Raspocs were
commonly seen. Red-thr. loons, old
Squaws, + Arctic Terns were seen also.
At lagoon. Parasitic Jaeger
(2) + Long-tailed Jaeger (lot) were
seen flying on the air - with no
signs of nesting seen. Apparently to
the north along the lagoons, Common Eider

with Arctic Tern + Glaucon Geese.
There are on the swelled islands
along the lagoon.
