Holmes, R. 1961 Journal 27 June Barrow - Ikravik, Alaska Red-back was collected. See sp. acct + catalog. The trip both from footprint was made slowly - on a bumpy boggie. (Insert samples were taken at the lake today). The quennor was past working a samples. The shore ice went out during the late morning. 28 June All morning spent working on samples + conferring with Max re Wales trip. We are now due to leave at 8:00 tomorrow. In the afternoon, I went to the insect plot + sampled again - both plot & The vacuum net. - a few adult flies were seen in the pond so emergence will be occurring from now on. All evening was spent in woken up Glavind sample. The weather today was clear with a slight NE wind. 29 June Barrow -> Wales, Alaska The morning was spent in preparing and waiting for the trip to Wales. After a conference with Max and Joe Felder, the pilot, we ate lunch + departed Barrow at 12:15. Trip personnel - Felder, Sullivan, Lampo, & Holmes. Flew SW about 4 mi inland. At 12:30 - Lunch at Skeel cliff (Sinara) - 2 C. Grelle. Seen several flukes of Phalangere. 12:37 - see. 100 Phalangere. 12:50 - 4 caribou. 12:58 - Liz-
