18 June Barrow, Alaska
west 1 camp was rather dangerous.
The wind blew fiercely today with
gusts to 30 mph. It calmed
Somewhat in the evening as the wind
shifted from SW to NE. - Bird activity
was poor in near Voth's area.
19 June Stayed all day doing insect sampler.
The weather was cold - wind - with
a NE wind blowing.
20 June Barrow - Skovvik, Alaska.
Took Johnson & Sullivan to Skovvik.
Weather overcast with occasional
1 sun + fog. - Bird activity poor -
NW pectoral seaplot - only 1 seen
on the trip (rest RBR). RB were relatively
common. 1 Nest was found near the
0.0 ends of Traplin III & IV near the
new road to Voth's area. It was
a funny thing - a gull + wading
with small pectoral seaplot - 4 eggs
These were confiscated along the way,
but actually few were found
on the plot. In the evening, the
weather cleared & I went to
Voth's aerodrome for the purpose of
recording bird songs - during 2 hrs
on the tundra. 1 RB was heard calling.
