11 June Barrow, Alaska
The whole season is early. 1st Ranunculus.
Lemming are par. Have scarcely three -
we seen today behind the lot on the
edge the drum area. The village sample
has declined considerably - to almost
nothing. No signs as seen in the tunnels-
other than last years runways. The holes are
blocked with an ice plug. So the presence
of lemming can be precisely obtained. Now
in some areas high polygons where they
may be - but they are now hard to
catch my. The predators (foxes & some
owls - jures) are still here & may well
finish off the remaining animals (with the 1
captured today - was a pregnant 4).
