4 June Barrow, Alaska
The weather today was varied. In the morning,
there was nearly a white-out with a
heavy fog. The clearest, but the sky remained
overcast. A wind picked up & it stayed cool
for the rest of the day with some sleet in the evening.
5 June Barrow, Alaska
Morning spent working in the lab to
checking equipment out of the storeroom.
In the afternoon I went to Woblocka
Slough & Elson Lagoon. Bird life was generally
good, with Sandlarks being present
in good numbers (~11). In the evening,
I went to Votit Britta Areas &
collected Peps.
The weather today has been cold
with a 15-25 mph wind blowing
from the east. The wind actually seemed
to be depressed slightly. The snow is
going fast. Marylou visited 2-3 days
ago, have now delayed so that broad
expanse of ridge type are stopped.
Woblocka Slough appears to be too
soft for travel & so I could not get
a totoykik slough. Elson Lagoon look
mushy & a snow is starting
to form. May the winds pass an
alarm meltup. Miller & Chamberlain arrived today.
