Holmes,R. 1959 Journal 9 are still very common. Also seen- 1 Dunlin, 3 Ruddy Turnstones, and 1 Clamorous Gall. 8 June Barrow Village, Barrow, Alaska 1300-1630 - ½ - 1 mi So. of Village on coastal-edge tundra. The area here on the high bluffs is beginning to become exposed. There are now areas 30 feet in diameter that are exposed which are providing a feeding locale for shorebirds and buntings and longspurs. There were about 40 Red-b. Saps, and 3 Pectoral in this area. A Ross' Gull was seen along the cliffs near The ice. Two Baird's Lags were seen and I collected close to the village. A Tree Sparrow was noted singing just So. of the Village. On the return trip, we went inland and returned to the base by this route. This area was still heavily covered with snow with a or occasional clearing.
