Holmes, P. 1960 Journal 27 Aug Barrow, Alaska In the afternoon, Pitelka & I worked on specimens. In the evening skins were prepared. 28 Aug Barrow, Alaska Traps were put out in the fertiliser's plots this morning. The area between these plots & the bore was checked for shorebirds. The weather today was cold & windy. The ponds were still mostly frozen at 11:00. In the afternoon, Warner & I mapped his live plots. In the evening, specimens were collected (lemmings). 29 Aug Barrow, Alaska Pitelka and I checked the traps in the morning (in the fertiliser plots) and looked for shorebirds along the way. Very few were seen (except for a few Pectorals). The weather again today was cold windsy (NE). At Ponds & streams were still frozen at 11 am - making feeding difficult for birds. The day was overcast with light snow in the early morning hours. Specimens were
