55. Holmes, R. 1960 Journeel 16 Aug Barrow=Cape Lisburne, Alaska The top and 45 on the sides. The Total 145 nests may still be too high. As we were approaching the Lake there were an estimated 130 Adults + 50 juveniles. All juveniles flew when we approached. Other steries scattered on the lake. Three paper bags were filled with pieces of bone, feather, & other what may enable us to get much on the effort? The gull is a harder predator. Several of the nests were filled with sticks + straw and were therefore built up street right from the ground. There may have actually been the active one this year. We left the lake at 1730. Arrived at Barrow at 2056. The weather today was cool (~32°) and windy (gusts to 40mph - NE-N). On the trip back toward the bar, a gold seagull was seen near Liz 2, and several family group 1 Sevens were noted SW of Liz B. Group 1 Lober geese were noted also. One goat + 2 Horned Ptarmigan were seen about a mile off shore near Liz A.
