Holmes, R. 1960 Journal 51. 10 Aug Barrow, Alaska day that we have had a steady rain. In the morning, several of the troughs were full of water and the traps were floating at several locations. By evening most of the troughs where the traps had been set were underwater and most of the traps were floating. This was the last night of checking for the line, but the traps were left there until tomorrow. During the day, lab work was completed. 11 Aug Barrow, Alaska This morning I drove to Footprint Lake - which had become greatly flooded. (It was still raining lightly early in the day, but it stopped around 1800). There were very few birds in the lake (2 Pectoral Sandgipes, 6 Red Phalaropes, 12 or Pintail several gages @ flying chicks & several Mergansers). The shrewbirds had apparently deserted on coming back. I went through VOT's Marsh, VOT's Strait the tundra north of it, and saw a group of 8 Pectorals seen along
