Holmes, R. 1960 Journal 47. 1 August Barrow, Alaska The weather this morning is rather cold & rainy. Specimen were put up + notes were written. In the afternoon, preparations were made for obtaining < weasel which is pregnant. More notes were also written. 2 August Barrow, Alaska Went to The Bead Ridge & Central Marsh during the morning & USA's Area & Footprint Lake in the afternoon. Weather overcast, but there was no wind. The fog settled in during the late afternoon. The number 1 Shorebirds see - The numbers is now very low. Today, however, for the first time, numerous shorebirds were present at Footprint Lake. Pectoral Sandpipers were the most abundant along with Small Numbers of Semi-palmated Sandpipers & Turnstones. All birds were concentrated around the wet, marshy area in the center of the No. part 1 The lake.
