Then was very little activity except east of the ridge where second birds were located in the muddy - semi dry ponds. The weather was clear - but windy. The ice is still along the shore, but a level can now be seen beyond the birds pressure ridge. 30 July Barrow, Alaska In the morning, lab work was completed. In the afternoon, I drove to Outh's tree vicinity, where I collected a few birds. The weather today crossed to wavy - snowy - the first such day all summer. In the evening, specimens were prepared. 31 July Barrow, Alaska Maher, Dr.+ Mrs. Hume and I left the bar at 1038 headed for the Pass. From there, we took The Hume's boat and went directly east to Taphaluk Island. We passed Quiter's
