Helmars,R. 1966 Journal 31. 3 July Skovvik, Alaska Lakes. The weather today was overcast, cold, + windy. The trip around to Lolu was quite easy to make because most of the streams now are low evenough to cross without too much difficulty. Bird activity was severely low. 4 July Skovvik → Barrow, Alaska In the morning I centered the boat 66, but there was little happening. In the afternoon we left for the camp I arrived at 1500. The afternoon was spent in catching up — The news + during the evening, Reynolds + I set out The trapline in Central Marsh. Weather: overcast, light snow flurries. 5 July Barrow, Alaska The morning spent in conference with Pitelka, Reynolds, + Werner. Pitelka left at 1130 and is due in California tomorrow. The traplines were checked in the morning evening. In the afternoon, I drove The truck very from the gasoline to Wobblachog Slough. Bird activity was nil; very few were actually seen. Weather - cloudy, with intermittent rain.
