26 June Barrow, Alaska
Reynolds and I went over to the
shore of Elom Lagoon and Whiskology
Slough with the purpose of collecting sandpipers. The weather was
miserable, it being rainy windy. In the evening,
Pikelka + I went over to Britton's + Voth's
Area, and we picked up several
birds. The snow is almost completely
gone now; there is still ice on the
Lagoon, and the shore ice is still
in.
27 June Barrow, Alaska
Warner + I checked the traplines near Ady's
in the morning, and the remainder of the
morning was spent in preparing specimens, etc.
In the afternoon, I went to Central Marge
+ to Dive Nest # 2, where I sat
in the blind for about 2 hours.
The day was sunny + warm; insects
made their first appearance. The
evening was spent along the beach ridges
between the gas line + the Beverage
