25 june Ikravuit, Alaska
The morning was spent writing
pots + checking a methods /
insect sampling. After watching
several birds feed, I have
attempted to obtain a sample
of the peat from that particular
area. Upon doing this, I am
still unable to find arachnids
in the sample. It was noted
that the birds (e.g. Red-brock) feed
by moving along rapidly and
only picking one or twice in the
same locality. One bird was
finical. It moved 35 feet in 58
seconds and made 28 probes
during the time. It seems probable
that the insect fauna in areas
are larger than the was

afternoon, a census was conducted on the
North 40. After supper, Casson D came into
camp. Fortport lake is now drained, and
salt (agon) has broken thru.
