Holmes,R. 1960 Journal 23 24 June Ikravik, Alaska The animals tend to concentrate into the open patches, and therefore a crease in these areas shows an extremely high number. It was noted that as the patch increases in size, several lemmings are seen. This lowers also supports this idea. Scramble fight are now to be seen among the animals, but these usually involve no more than a short chase with a few loved cries or noise. In an estimate in the census plot, I believe there are about 25 animals they are - at 50/acre. This is estimated my count 1 animals in that area. The foxes number remain high. There does not appear to be a shortage of food for these mice, since lemmings are often seen running around a a mound where the foxes is standing an arm and around a fox's rest. The two pairs of still present near the west stand Ikravik. There are as 1 today no young in nest #9.
