Holmes,R 1960 Journal 19. 21 June Barrow, Alaska - Ikravik north end / The plot. Golden Plowers and Red-bobs seen relatively numerous. Pectenars are also present. The area looks promising. Most / The snow is now gone from the area - The polygy trough is now filled with water + Some ice. 22 June Ikravik, Alaska Began setting out plot at 0830, Maker arrived at 1030 and helped during the remainder of the day. By 1930, most / The north 40 was laid out. Darny The late evening drums were placed at the ends + halfway point / At plot. The lower end / The ridge was checked + old weet at 9 am found. A pair / White-capped Sandpipers was found near the Lower Lake (south of 2nd weet). The weather during the past three days has been warm & Sunny (a low of 35°F - high of 53°F today). The majority / The snow is gone, and The creeks are falling rapidly. Even though this was an early year, melt off has been delayed somewhat.
