Holmes,R 1960 Journal 15 june Barrow, Alaska The morning was spent on the beach ridge where little bird activity was noted. The afternoon was passed by pursuing specimens, and during the evening, I took a short trip to the beach + go fine ridges. More specimens were pursued in the late evening. 16 june Barrow, Alaska Walked the beach ridge and the area around ATES during the morning. Baird's Sandpipers seemed to be present in relatively large numbers (at least 6 Brown displaying at the same time). The melt off in this region has been slow during the past few days, but water is now about a foot deep in arctic marsh and is collecting with through wet barren places. The snow cover is approximately 40%. During the afternoon Ken Tavak and I took the wagon down to Ikranki and put it in place near the plot. Voth's creek, Slough marsh, + Forkprit lake are now under several feet of water and
