Holmes, R. 1960 Journal 8 June Barrow, Alaska walked the approximate length of the cirmpl. There are several pairs / longspins, several redback & jaegans and little sla guest / peckul was also seen. The area is still fairly well covered with snow, but the ridge top is now becoming exposed. a little more. 9 June Barrow, Alaska The morning + afternoon were spent in the area along Elson Lagoon from the west (N.W.) to the area just south / north slough. The jaegans are now nesting + can be seen everywhere. 10 June Barrow, Alaska Went to Footprint + Likroavile Lakes to check on red-back activity. The morning was windy + overcast. The afternoon was spent in the lot work or lunnings. During the evening, the wind died down, and the sun came out, so the area along Elson Lagoon was visited.
