Holmer.R 1960 Journal 12 5 June Barrow → Inaru River → Barrow, Alaska The trip back was made back in the evening in a rather humid fashion. Little bird activity was noted. Makers notes contain a detailed account of the owls, juncos, & lemming activity. 6 June Barrow, Alaska Drove with Pitkala to Skovville via Footprint Lake and returned through central marsh. Flocks of long- sparrows were noted several times (4-7 birds). The owl nests were checked & 1 juncos nest was found northwest of Skovville. The weather today was cold + windy + snowy. 7 June Barrow, Alaska Morning spent collecting lemmings in central marsh; three animals were procured during the afternoon. A short trip was made to Woblesdlog Slough in the late morning and again in the evening. 8 June Barrow, Alaska Spent the morning working over specimens and checking out equipment.
