Spend the morning checking owl nests toward
Makert Quat. The results of this activity are

3 June Barrow, Alaska
Shorebird activities were checked near Elson Lagoon
and the beach ridge during the morning. The
birds are increasing rapidly, and more can be
heard displaying daily.
Several locations on the beach ridge
were canvassed for lemmings. Three
plots were established along the
crest of the ridge; all consisted
of approx. 1/3 acres of exposed tundra
surrounded more or less completely
by snow. The results are presented
