And should make a good study area. The
part to the west? This looks low +
flat + will probably be marshy
once the snow melts. No shorebirds were
seen in the area at the time. Two
sites / bird activity were noted. One a
nest scheduled 1.7 mi south (the north
end) The lake at the edge? A trough?.
This nest contained 4 eggs + was
completely surrounded by snow. The 2nd
was a depression in the tundra (mound)
which had the appearance / a nest, but no
eggs were there. There were, however,
29 dead lemmings which were in fairly
fair condition laying around this
depression. A bowl was seen in the
vicinity. Henning sign in the area
looked similar to condition north of
Sledge, etc.; but fewer lemmings were
actually seen. Joegr activity was
"normal". A group 1 joegs (21) were
seen sitting on the ice at Akeroakite
In the afternoon, The shore / Elan
lojon was checked for shorebirds.
One duck was seen displaying. 3
Pectorals; 1 Semi-pool, + 2 R. Turn-
stars were also seen.
