Holmes, R 1960 Journal 3. 29 may Barrow, Alaska Drive to Uth's Area, Footprint Lake + The North end / Denmark This morning. The snow cover is still fairly continuous. In Uth's Area saw / the high plots are exposed; there were only a few squares were seen. Lemmings were abundant; numerous individuals could be seen on an area [in square- 15x20 ft had 14 lemmings grazing in. The spot at my time). They were even common in the floor / Footprint lake where several individuals were seen and the snow was heavily out. Jogan were present throughout the area, and many appeared to be settled. No foxes were seen. During the afternoon, The beach ridge, gasline ridge, Wohlschloz Slope + Arbo, whatever was checked. The same story held true for lemmings here as mentioned above. They could be seen running everywhere. (The weather today in an overcoat with a cool westerly wind blowing). Several flocks of order were seen (150, 16, 2 + occas. individ) flying Southwest as tendex. Spec called to the [illegible].
