Holmes-R 1955 Journal 46. 9 August Barrow, Alaska Traps were checked in the morning and two more lines were laid in the late afternoon. Lait work was continued (17 lemmings caught in the traplines last night + second burrow + nineteen for unimat). The weather was very poor with rain and low fog. 30 August Barrow, Alaska Traps checked during the morning and evening. Voth's Slough was checked and it was found to be too wet for traplines (rain the last day + half & moist conditions worse). The two lines located within slough (II, XII) were located. It was found that most of the stakes have been removed or are hidden from view due to the tall grass. Lemming activity looked good in certain portions of the slough. For runways, eh were well defined. 31 August Barrow, Alaska Traps checked in morning and evening, and two lines were brought in. The lemming picture looks better with more lemmings being caught
