32. 109 E. of D cut. 5 ft 3 in. Corniferous. 1mra 2½ feet very crinoidal. 5 ft soft Ozgood clay, Clintm massive looking, with calcite in upper 2 feet. Top chert layer is found 2 feet below top of Clintm. The massive appearance probably due to absence of weathering since the exposure in the cut is quite fresh. A E West of Chicago. Impossible to determine just how much Clinton was preserved. The following observations are the result of careful measurements. Black Shale 1 foot brown rock Corniferous 6 in. crinoidal rock 15 feet Clintm. Lower 5 feet = massive 8 in. thin bedded. 2 ft with Tetradinn. 4 ft. Madison bed but here it is weathered so as to be very soft. 6 ft. weathering softer than bed above. 8 ft. hard at top, softer below. 2 ft. Coral bed. Columnaria halli; B F 33. Chicago. West of distillery in N.W. part of Turn. Black shale. 2½ft Corniferous 6 in. brown rock {2 ft. crinoidal 15 ft Clintm Thin bedded 110 West of Loretto. Black slate. cornif 6 in. brown rock with cross larrons. orus 3 in. not exposed. 17½ ft Clintm. Soft clayey rock. 105. North of Loretto. Black slate. Corniferous. {2ft 3 in. of brown rock ? with volute burrows at top 9 in. white the crinoidal b. weathered away in places. 3 ft 3 in. regular bedded, contain ing calcite + 2 rare chert. 7 feet. Massive Clintm. with calcite, 6 feet 9 in. soft clayey at top Madism bed, top.
