The broad nail could be seen on the birds from 200+ yards
away through the telescope

sitting on sewage pond. When flushed, the long white
wing stripe, prominent to near the wingtips was clearly
noted by all. Thought to be Greater by R. Stallcup
when sitting because of a very chocolate brown head
contrasting strongly with a large, sharply outlined face
patch.
