Little Blue Heron

July 21 Whitewater Rivermouth, Salton Sea, Riverside Co., Calif : | calico-
phase bird which has been seen by many at this spot for over
one month. In flight it was contrastingly marked with gray and
white in the wings. While perched, it appeared mostly grayish.
The bill was broader than nearly Snowy Egrets, particularly at
the base, and was darker at the tip than at the base
