Sep. 21 Pt. Pinos : 1 flying w. east point with Sooty Shearwaters -
rarely seen from shore
Sep. 22 Monterey Bay boat trip : 2000. Most of this species
I have ever seen. One raft of at least 1000
Blacks.
Oct. 6 Monteeey Bay boat trip: 8000. Apparently outnumbered
Ashy 2:1, contrary to any previous estimates
made on Monterey Bay. Both Rich Stallcup and I
agreed on the ratio and the totals.
