July 8 Sacramento R., 4 mi. n.of Glenn, Glenn Co., Calif: 1 a + 2 juv.
Flushed ad. from gravel riverbank and it gave a
distraction display, fluttering along the ground; we
located 2 downy young with shafts just pin feathers
just appearing on primary shafts - length of bird
about 4 inches. They were mobile on the ground,
flopping away from us when released.
