Assumed to be only wintering birds, but habitat is reasonably suitable for a jay to breed. Why do they winter here and not at any other oasis, like Scotty's Castle. Dec.8 373 Gravatt: 2 of my banded birds from last year present at feeder together. At least 2-3 present in neighborhood all fall, same as last year
