160 [illegible] 5\ ft, hard, argill., rock. No prints by left thing, that look like worm burrows, that branch and twist through rock. Internal large straight account for all the Richmond necessary. 10\ft thin bedded argill., and shale, may be from Richmond. No prints. 162 5\ ft massive cherty rock, black shale, 8\ft bedded Den. limestone-- 7\1/2 ft chalky stuff 2\ft, dark colored cl. 2\ft, chalky stuff with Dracophora communis, 8\ft chalky stuff, 10\ft Planktoniferous Bryozones. Septaenaria obliqua, dentata, D. 5\ft intercal. chalk rock at top of Devonian contains Phillips's notation, The sandy rock above the Den. limestone may be Devonian also but this is uncertain. Not any rate, it does not appear to belong to the known Richmond. 161. Septaenaria obliqua found 2\ft 163 Dr. colored limestone in creek bed from 161 to 163, 164 D'er. clast, 35\ft. internal. Dracophora comm. past, i am inclined to, Septaenaria communis. 27\ft Internal chiefly dark colored limestone of me. Some Dracophora at top. 13\ft dark colored cl. 27\ft creek bed Section NE of opening. Up creek - from the Hall school house about 40 miles, The locality is on Smith Gossan creek, about half way between Will branch and the road to Aliceton which starts off further down the creek. 165 Rollings is about 2\mi up North Fork from NNE withy Smith Gosse Back: 5 yds due. Devonian cl. 30\ft internal, Septaenaria communis. 33\ft dark colored cl. 50\ft in. basal argill. rock, creek level, Up this Fork eastward, the lower part of the preceding sections well exposed. It is the lower Grinnell chalked. Notice that with the white layer is plainly on display
