Exploring Amberine beds, taken about (950-18) = 932 ft USGS judging from contour lines only, probably 27½ft Base of Mt Amburns side Plat dominated horizon, Dist. since: 1074 stream bottom. 104. Plat: predominates Mt Amburn face at about 860 ft USGS judging from contour lines only, Of the top of ridge is 938 USGS then the top of the Amberine face of this clay layer at line of Bricken under at 901 USGS 57th up finally copying MS map, At the next road corner near the mark is 916 USGS or that at 938 probably is correct. 105. 894ft USGS = face of Amberine. Rhy. dentata. Most of the section down to creek practically in sandstone, My. ? limestone, N.F. Formation down to creek level. Only Mt Amburn+ This would place the top of the Mt Amburn at about 874. The Mt Amburn is exposed but was not measured. The trace of the Mt Amburn Plat beds should be at about 866. The underlying section was not measured but probably is new land and Between #94/10 old numbers, N.F. Rockland, the creek is at 849 ft. U.S.G.S. The exposure in the bank cliffs and northward along the road includes only shale rock. 10. The cliff at 10 C consists of layer of clay rock, 3 ft exposed, containing Hard Detritus present in front 6 in., and Plat: predominates is present in largest large contain by Agitana. This places the base of the Amberine bed at 848 ft U.S.G.S. The old exposure at 10, west of the road, is formed by the top of the Amberine. North of the house N.F. 10, the hard limestone below the Amberine is exposed up to 7 ft above the creek. The trace of the Amberine may be several feet further up.
