72 Barren River section. Glasgow to Scottsville road, 1/2 mile E of bridge across Barren R. Top section in J F Harts land. 43 ft loose chert fragments in soil along hill top, with fossils, including spirifers. But it is not certain for certainty within this belongs to the Harrodsburg limestone, at least no Rhynch- orrella dulin was found. 42 ft, shaly argillaceous rock, with few stelloids and crinoid beads near top. This is the upper part of the Keokuk formation and resembles it closely. 30 ft thin shaly argillaceous lime- stone. This is evidently merely the calcareous phase of the upper Keokuke, if it is the representative of the New- Orleans clay series I do not have the proof. This part of the section is best exposed 1/2 mile east of the Bridge, at the Big Bluff on George McKimery land, although it was exposed also in the W met on farm. 6 ft cheesy white limestone, ex- poded on both farms, best at the big Bluff. At some localities its lower part of the vulgury section is less solid clearly this pure solid lime- tone section appear 11/2 thick. 73 55 ft Black Chattanooga slate, thin fissile on G W McKimery farm at big bluff. 8 ft. Devonian limest are, blue gray and the dark, with pieces of fossils except one layer about 2 ft from the top which containing crinoid stems; Nothing else recognizable. This layer is solid to lime- at me. Only seen in George McKimery farm. Hurst farm. Stock farm Black slate Big Bluff on Farm. Black slate Woods cutting Gate Gate Bridge
