RUBBLE, D.D. 1986 Journal (4) Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., CA. June 5 (cont) Both 1922♀; 1924 were caught in the same trap. 1924 (?) apparently entered first because 1922(?) lost part of her tail covering in the trap door. Since 1924 had scrotal testes, the possibility of breeding is possible. 1922 vulva was immediately swollen, but not decidedly so. 1924 was a golden brown ♀; 1922 was grayish brown (probably early adult) with obvious teats, but not swollen. Both animals were very aggressive & didn't relax at all during handling. Both animals escaped down the hill under chamise & downed oaks (grassland's live oaks at bottom), ~40ft to bottom. Trapline St# ID# Spp. I 9(ledge) 1925 N.fuscipes ♀, subadult(mostly gray, slight brown on sides) nonbreeding, 2 wmbk's! 1 on throat, 1 mid abdomen) escaped down under chamise; captured under chamise "Holly" (hoshrub.
