Aug 22 (sat) Summary of Capture Results on RC-1 - EARLY RESULTS P. californicus: 11 captures (5♂:6♀), 3 new animals (2♂,1♀) P. boylii : 7 captures (4♂:1♀) N. fuscipes: 3 captures (1♂:2♀), 2 new animals (1♂:1♀) Perognathus californicus: 1 ♂ P. maniculatus: 1 ♂ Total captures = 23 LATE RESULTS (Post 0600h) P. californicus: 4 captures (1♂:3♀) P. boylii : 4 captures (3♂:2♀); 1 new (♀) P. maniculatus: 1 ♂ Total captures = 9 Apparently most activity is prior to 0400hrs. In the afternoon I picked up traps on MC-1, and set traplines for animals for mammalogy class. Traps were set in the following areas: 1) 10 traps in bunkhouse 2) 10 stations, 2 traps/stn - Chaparral edge north of grid RC-1, Robertson Creek 3) " " - Riparian oak woodland, Robertson Creek, ~1/4 mi upstream from RC-1. 4) " " - Big Creek., 100m east of Rd. Crossing 5) " " - Arroyo south of Red House Total of 90 traps set. [Li = 94° Lo = 50°] 2340hr - Out on grid RC-1 for night# trap checks. It's clear and cool (low7os) 2345hr - #09♀ (9,17). Red on limbs, tail, ears, & mouth. Definite contact. Aug 23 0015 - #615 ♂(8,15). With red on scrotal area & hind limbs only- Not a definite contact. Left over from previous night 0020 - #2648 (6,13) - Green on limbs, tail, mouth and ears. Definite contact
