RIBBLE, D.O. 1986 Journal 30 Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., CA. June 30 (cont) The number captured for the second occasion are conservative because in *3 instances I misread ear tag no's in my haste. Only definitive animals and numbers were recorded. Note that 2 P.boylii were captured 3 times. No trend between occasions is obvious, except that more new animals were captured on the second occasion. Reset all traps between 1630 and 1830. The caught a ?? Sceloporus occidentalis with a regenerated tail at station 7,14- Toe-clipped him # 2000. Also watched a S.griseus climbing in trees around 7,14. It was warmer today (high 80's), and calm. Around 2200h, we noted a Myotis subulatus in the school hour, ???. It was stunned and took a few hours to revive in the Red Hour Max temp-83 Min temp-47 July1 0230-Out for a night-time trap check. Clear, calm, low 50's 0315- #793,?, station B,6 has green on back & front feet, but not around mouth or ears. Probably just encountered the dust somehow 0320- #1952,o?, dark green on limbs, ears, mouth penis 0320- 1931,f, dark green on limbs, ears, tail. Seems old. Vulva scaby 0330 - f 1929 (immature) green on limbs, tail, ears ??345 - ??739- orange on limbs, ears, mouth 0425 768- animal appeared to have lime green on limbs's tail, but I think it is just a urine reflection. The color doesn't show in the dark. Don't count this 0450 740- animal covered w/ orange, But could have gotten this in trap. 0515 - 1936o- covered w/ Red, limbs, ears, & ventral area, & mouth. Seems older is not fask. 1994 - covered w/ red- limbs, mouth & ears. Although the trap has some pigment I think there is too much on this animal to get it solely from that. 0530 - 1934- seems to have some lime green in ears, but not definite Finished around 0600h. It was warmer tonight than any of the past nights (low 50's). Moon is 1/4 full. See GRID DATS for results & summary below. Counted or heard at least 4 immature Cooper's hawks.
